Advice has been received of the death of John Sendy

John Passed away on 14/7/19 in Repat. Hospital.  He was born in Adelaide  but lived in Edithburgh on the York Peninsula,  South Australia, for the last 15 yrs.  He was a leading seaman  with Fleet Air Arm, and in additional to normal postings served in South Vietnam with the first Flight of the RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam as a gunner. On one occasion his aircraft was shot down.  His nickname was  “Sludge”, although on occasion he was also called “Bat 7”. John was also a member of the Vietnam Veterans Motor Bike Club.  

A memorial service was held at the RSL at Edithburgh S A  on Saturday 20 July 2019 at 1100.
