We have been advised that Terence (Terry) Thornett passed away in Nowra some time during the last few days of September, 2022.
Terry joined the RAN from Perth (WA) aged 19 on 5 January 1956. He trained as EM (Air) at Cerberus and Albatross and rated LEM (Air) in 1966. He was confirmed as PO Electrician Air Weapons on 4 August 1968.
He served in MELBOURNE ‘FESR’ March to May 1959 and in MORESBY Flight from March 1967 to July 1969. We believe he paid-off as a PO Air Technical Weapons Electrical (POATWL) and was a keen sportsman and cyclist.
Our advice is that Terry worked with British Aerospace Australia in the Avionics Workshop in the early 90s.
