Donald Gunn passed away on 8th April 2023 after a short illness. He was 90 years old.
Don was a Melbourne lad with an interest in engineering, and he joined the Navy in January of 1951 to pursue that dream. After training in the UK he qualified as an Air Engineering Officer, serving nine years before discharging to shore in August of 1960. In his last posting he was AEO of 805 Squadron aboard HMAS MELBOURNE.
After Don left the Navy he worked in the oil industry until he retired.
He leaves behind his wife, Atholene, his children, grandchildren and great grand-daughter. Don will be sadly missed.
