It is with much regret that we advise the passing of Gordon Edgecombe at Carinya Palliative Care, Berry, NSW on Friday 25 September 2020.
Gordon served in Vietnam as a member of the 1st Contingent, RANHFV, under (then) LCDR Neil RALPH DSC RAN. He earned a Naval Board Commendation for his service as part of HFV, including as Air Liaison Officer with the 18th Division, Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN).
Regrettably we have little information as to Gordon’s other RAN Service at this time, other than he served in HMAS Hobart for Bridge Watchkeeping training in the early 1980s and in the Directorate of Naval Training in Canberra. Perhaps someone can help?
Gordon’s funeral will be held on Thursday 01 October at 1300. Venue is Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens at Worrigee. The website link is here, at which you will find details of the Funeral Director conducting the service. The service can be seen here.
