We have. been advised of the death of ex-CPOATA Alan Hill, R37153, late of the Gold Coast, on 17 December 2023. He was 92 years old.
Alan was born in Perth on 14 August 1931 and subsequently joined up in Fremantle for an initial 12 year enlistment. In the early days he worked primarily on Fireflies, then Venoms and later Skyhawks. He served on all three RAN carriers, Sydney Vengeance and Melbourne. He was also remembered for his other gig as Albatross SP bookie in the sixties and seventies.
Known as a tough Chief but great mentor.
Alan was admitted to Sandbrook Aged Care in 2023 in poor health.
