The FAAAA regrets to announce the death of Charles James Morris on 4 June 2015, three days short of his 89th birthday, from a condition of the heart.  

Born in the UK on 7 June 1926 Charlie Morris served in the Royal Navy throughout WWII before transferring to the RAN in September 1948 as an EM.  He retired in 1980 as Commander WE.  He represented Australia in 1956 as an Olympics Hammer thrower and was a notable personality in the Fleet Air Arm.  

He lived in Melbourne for the last few decades of his life and is survived by his wife Adele; daughter, Christina, grandchildren Alyssa and Clare and great-grandchildren Sebastian and Mercury.
