The FAAAA is saddened to learn of the death of Mal Pearce in Victor Harbour on 16 June 2016 from cancer.

Mal was a dear friend during his shared years in the RAN and a was keen member of the RAN Gliding Association. From memory, his last posting was HMAS Moresby before leaving to have a long and successful career in the pharmaceuticals industry.

Mal joined the Navy on 10th February 1964 – the night of the Voyager Melbourne accident. He paid of 10th February 1973 a week before he was married on 17th February 1973 as a Leading Seaman Safety Equipment.

At the time of his death he was 69 years old: he would have been 70 on 15th September 2016.

Mal leaves behind a loving wife, Carol,  two daughters, a granddaughter and three grandsons.
